Employee Training Institute

Funding Resources

Employment Training Panel
The Employee Training Institute works with the Employment Training Panel, a California State fund that distributes the .1% training tax collected from California employers’ based on their quarterly payroll. After training is completed, the fund reimburses manufacturers, firms that face out-of-state competition, destination resorts and multiple employer contractors (such as Santa Clarita Community College District) who have contracted with ETP per participant.

The Employee Training Institute reduces the ‘administrivia’ for companies who wish to participate in State funded training. ETI assists you in completing the required forms, tracks the participants and the funding, and keeps you abreast of progress of trainees you have in our programs.

To start, a company completes a Certification Statement, signs it and sends it in to ETI. ETI submits the Statement for final eligibility approval by the State. The statement includes information about your company, industry, products, training plans and your contributions towards the State funded training program.

Each participant must meet eligibility requirements, as well. Please go to the Eligibility Requirements for more information.

Training is scheduled according to participant and trainer schedules. We have held training for night shifts, on weekends, on site and at COC training facilities. Consortium classes are offered to meet the needs of small employers and those with only a few employees with a particular need.

Classes must have a minimum of 15 participants and maximum of 20 to start. This small class size allows for maximum interaction and exchange of ideas.
