Thank you for participating in the Employee Training Institute at COC, funded by the State of California's Employment Training Panel (ETP).
Your firm may need to complete an updated Certification Statement (an application for your firm to participate in the program) and receive approval from the State of California. CALL FOR Certification Statement – (661) 259-3874.
For each trainee, you must submit a Training Program Application and a copy of the trainee's pay check stub. These items are submitted to and approved by the State ETP. For our current contract, a trainee must be earning a minimum of $12.90 per hour (in LA County). You can add company paid medical, dental, and vision benefits to the hourly wage to meet the requirement; if so, you must submit a Medical Certification Form obtained from our office. To confirm eligibility of an employer or employee please download ELIGIBILITY FORM.
A $125 material fee (amount varies by class), per student, payable to the Santa Clarita Community College District, and should be mailed in to College of the Canyons Employee Training Institute on 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd., Santa Clarita, CA 91355 before the first day of class.
Most classes meet at our Center for Applied Competitive Technologies training site located at Aerospace Dynamics, 25571 Rye Canyon Road in the Industrial Park. Some classes are held on-site at the employer's request.
Your employees must attend at least 80% of the class hours of training and must be retained on the job for an additional 90 days following the completion of training for your company to qualify for reimbursement of your deposit. As the ninety-day retention period, following the last class date, approaches we conclude the paperwork required by the state for reimbursement of training costs. We ask you to complete a form (called the 122) by a date designated in your letter.
You will need to verify that the information is complete and accurate for each of your participating employees by filling out the bottom section of the form. For your convenience, we include a copy of the instructions issued by the State for completion of this form and a return enveloped.
Please call us if you have any questions (661 259-3874). We hope that your employees use the skills taught in this program and that your company benefits from their participation! We look forward to working with you on additional training projects in the future.
